Caitlin O’Brien
Caitlin O’Brien is a lifelong athlete whose journey started on the softball field and gravitated towards the world of endurance sports after college. A former Division II college softball player, she built her foundation of discipline, teamwork, and competitiveness early on. These qualities continue to shape her approach to sport and life.
After college, Caitlin expanded her athletic path, first competing in CrossFit competitions before moving into endurance sports. She completed multiplemarathons and international,70.3, and full-distance Ironman triathlons, proving her ability to push through physical and mental barriers. Today, she is a dedicatedcyclist and gravel racer, with standout results, including completing the Unbound gravel race across the Flint Hills of Kansas, earning a 4th-place age-group finishin the 100-mile category. She also competes in road and criterium races as part of the Cowboy Cyclist race team, continuing to expand her skills and competitive edge across disciplines on the bike.
Beyond athletics, Caitlin is a proud mom of an 8-year-old son and balances training with her professional and academic pursuits. She is a PhD student at Florida Atlantic University (FAU) in Curriculum & Instruction with a focus on special education and autism, and she works at the FAU Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (CARD), where she provides clinical support to individuals and families. She draws strength and inspiration from her partner and teammate, Michael Bloch, whose support has been essential to her athletic and personal journey.
