Roly Hernandez

Born in Havana, Cuba, Roly fell in love with cycling as a child, inspired by watching La Vuelta a Cuba pass through his town each year. He began racing in 1990 and competed at the junior level for four years before stepping away from the sport after college.

After moving to the United States in 2005, Roly returned to cycling in 2009. By 2012, he had reached Category 2, building on strong results in Cat 4 and Cat 3 races. Known for his consistency on the bike, he has earned numerous podiums across Masters and Pro 1-2 races, including the Champion of Champions Jersey, wins at the Florida Gravel Series, and strong finishes at USAC Regionals.

Despite setbacks—like a shoulder injury in 2024 that threatened his season—Roly has shown resilience, returning stronger to capture the Gravel State Championship Mountain Bike 40+ division. He rides with the Pioneer Mortgage Team and is personally sponsored by Matt, looking forward to a competitive 2026 season.
